An in-depth and sensitive interview with the student and his/her family. This meeting clarifies the needs and priorities of the client and directs the path best taken at the time.
Evaluation of all past records including transcripts, achievement and aptitude testing, and pertinent information regarding the students personal growth.
Counseling interview with the student to help identify those options best suited to his/her individual requirements.
When necessary, testing will be advised for purposes of psychological and intellectual assessment. Referrals will be made to tutors, remedial reading specialists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and other professionals.
After the selection of appropriate schools, the staff will assist the student through the application process.
Full service includes personal communication by ACS counselors with private secondary schools or college admissions offices, when appropriate.
ACS provides a continuing support system for students either through additional contact with the school, as with private schools and alternative schools, or through helping the student identify the appropriate school from his/her list of college acceptances.
